Buffalo's defense is absolutely filthy. If they had an average qb they would have made the playoffs. The Steelers also play down to their competition, but man they had some terrible losses. Overall, Id go Titans over Chiefs in week 1. That had no resemblance to how the teams looked over the rest of the year.

Steelers could have easily won 14 games

Losses to the awful Jets and Bucs, mediocre Saints and Browns and good Ravens.

I wouldn't call the Saints' wins over solid teams "flukes." They had every reason to be elite this year and were one of the favorites for the Super Bowl. Don Best power rankings had them as #2 midway through the season. It really was a bizarre year for them, and injuries and an apparently shitty culture on the team did them in, which is really disappointing.

Winless raiders beating KC in week 12. KC had just beat seattle and had won 7 of 8. Cost KC a playoff spot

I understand your point. I guess what I meant by "fluke" was not that it was a big upset. It was a game that had an eye-catching result and everybody attached some kind of significance to the game. But in the long run, there was either no significance at all or it was the exact opposite wound up playing up.

Like when the Chiefs dismantled the Patriots--everybody thought the dynasty was over and then they lost one more game the entire season and got home field advantage with a week to spare.

Or Eagles/Cardinals--at the time it was a game with home field advantage possibly on the line and it wound up being a game between a team that didn't make the playoffs and a 5 seed.

Any Cardinals win since Palmer went down. The Cardinals went 3-4 in their last seven games. Their scores? 14,3,18,17,12,6, and 17 points. They scored 12.4 points per game on average and still managaged to beat 3 NFL teams - Lions, Chiefs, and Rams.
