I agree. CB's are expensive, but a necessary expense.
But I agree what the previous poster said, without a pash rush, I don't see that much improvement.
How much money you think Cam Jordan and Hicks cost themselves this year?
I swear, I wanted to fling the remote thru the TV when Jordan did his lil dance after he lucked into that first 1/2 sack.
I heard Hicks' name called a half dozen times this year, that's it.
What was the difference in the lack of production from the D Line this year? Same players,, same scheme, and a year under their belt.

yeah, hopefully the Saints will add a corner. I don't know what is going on with SJB and PRob is totally inconsistent.
LB is a must I think. I mean the Saints have gone out of their way not to draft one very high the last SEVERAL years. So you would guess they'll test the free agent waters... very likely.

You posted the exact same thing in the other thread and I will respond the same way
If Colston, Evans and Grubbs keep their current salaries and don't take a pay cut then we deserve to lose. There's no reason for three barely above average players to be paid what they are being paid. I don't expect all 3 to be cut. But I expect one of the guards to be gone and the other to take a pay cut.
Colston needs to take less money too. 9 mil a year is josh gordon type money

quote:We got lucky with Lewis. Flooded market and he was definitely overlooked.
Yeah, you can always expect to overpay for a CB regardless. But at this point, you really cannot let this go on any further. They have to be aggressive and address CB immediately
Fingers crossed the kid from Houston gets overlooked too.

Colston's money can be played around with even if he doesn't take a pay cut. Grubbs as well, but we have nearly no leverage with him.
Evans, on the other hand, has almost no leverage as a 32(when the season starts) year old guard who saves a ton on the cap and won't get another big pay day.
I'd rather just part ways with Evans now though.
And yeah Sun you mention those names but the fact is we can still make room if we want someone. We aren't in cap hell, even without cutting a single person.

We haven't taken a first round LB since Mark Fields in '95. It's time.

Malcolm Smith is not an every down player and comes in the same mold that Hawthorne did. I think he would be just as disappointing.

No you must have 2 good Corners to have a stout defense. We have 1 good corner most of the season if we blitzed the opposing team would just throw away from Lewis and get the 1st down. #1 concern beast CB #2 concern beast OL

Must be because we don't feed them the right PEDs like ol' Pete does up in Seattle
