My wife and daughter share a Ruger Youth Model 243. And as someone said above I shot it and they almost didn't get it back.

I hunted with a friends 243 a few weeks ago. Sweet shooting little gun.
I harvested a doe and hit her a little forward..........damn near blew her front leg off.

BayouBengal51 How old did you guys start him hunting and at what ages did you progress him from bb gun/pellet rifle to .22 to .243?

jag211,

Where you will be hunting, access to a variety of ammunition probably isn't a problem. But for people that hunt in Bum Frick Texas, access to certain ammunition can be a real issue. You might be buying it in a gas station or at best a small town Walmart.
