Yea, everybody loves 2.
Have yet to play either, but pumped that 1 is included with 2 so I can get to play both.
What about Child of Light? Anyone play it? Supposed to be great.

Pretty much all I can think of at the moment.
Do not get WW HD. If you haven't played it, I wouldn't recommend getting it. Despite the graphics, it is a lot darker than it comes out to be, but I find the gameplay and dungeons to be highly underwhelming.
I would ALSO recommend you get Smash 3DS because if you register BOTH games on Club Nintendo, they'll send you 2 CDs with all the games music on them as well as free Mewtwo DLC that both come out in Spring 2015. So yeah.

Duck hunt is a must get.
I have heard nothing but praise about DK Tropical Freeze.

Super Mario 3D World is probably the best game on the system. Outside of that, I'd recommend Bayonetta 2.

Oh yeah! I played a demo of that game. It's freaking amazing for anyone who's a fan of the series. And yes....it is hard. As. frick.

recommending hyrule warriors as a must have and wind waker as a don't buy is just straight up bad advice

In the way you're recommending a depth-less action game that is really just a Dynasty Warriors with a Zelda skin over a full fledged Zelda title.
It'd be like me recommending Dynasty Warriors 8 on PS4 over Last of US Remastered because I thought the story was too dark.
Edit: I even like the Warriors series a lot, but I would never recommend them over something like WWHD. They're targeted to such a tiny audience, that if they were to like them, they would likely already own it.

Me and my wife played DK Country all the time on one of those consoles that play NES and SNES games. We were pumped when I got the Wii U and Tropical Freeze. She didn't last an hour before she quit. I lasted a few more days until it finally beat me into submission. Hardest game I've played in awhile. I felt pretty bad about myself.

I agree the dungeons and gameplay didn't seem to be challenging at all, but it was a good game.
