I scratched my barrel. Did it while removing the barrel nut. What can I do to at least make it look better. It will be under the handguard.

Thanks in advance

If it is just bluing that is missing, you can buy a kit to re lie parent much anywhere....

I read to use clp afterwards to reduce shine. Thoughts or am I being to picky?

Yes, but only because it's not my gun. I know the first time I nicked mine up I was mad. It's a tool and I now treat mine as such. If it was a Colt revolver or heirloom 1911 I'd be looking for something to punch.

They make the blue pens that look like a sharpie. I think I got one at walmart. Works pretty good, but a black sharpie will probably do the same thing.

One small note or I'd be remiss, most AR barrels are parkerized not blued. The pen from Academy is a great idea.

Yeah I was worried because bluing is more "black" than the "greyish" of the parkerized

Right?

Correct in a sense. Bluing is usually gloss where parkerized is more of a matte finish.

Will steel wool take off some shine or a magic eraser? What about the clp?

Sorry for all the questions.
