What's the recovery like from this operation?

A buddy of mine in his 30's is having this done and I feel like it's one of those things that sounds minor but is brutal afterwards.

If he's a wimp he'll be out for a week. If he's not, two days.

It's actually more risky as an adult than as a kid. Adult recovery times are longer too. I'd expect to be out 3-5 days.

2 weeks recovery minimum. if he starts vomiting blood, he could die. It has life threatening side effects. Not a simple procedure for an adult.

Recovery is a hell of a lot tougher as an adult. He'll be miserable as hell, recovery varies drastically from individual to individual.

My daughter had rods screwed into her spine and was in the spinal unit for 5 days. She had her tonsils out when she was 25 and said that was much worse than her back surgery. She lost 25 pounds.

Had mine out at 38. It wrecked me for 2.5 weeks solid.

I was told any bleeding in first 48 hours I was to go straight to emergency room.

Didn't have much pain, but it left me really worn out.

My brother had his done when he was in his early 20s. Shortly after getting home from the hospital he started hemorrhaging blood. I gave him a coffee can to catch the blood while driving him back to the hospital. Thought we may have to stop to empty the can on the way, but didn't
