Those with the sig brace need to watch out. The dream of shouldering a sig braced pistol is coming to an end.

Yes, which is why 99.9% of people bought them.

I never planned on bringing my gun to the range for this purpose. The sig brace was never designed to shoot from the shoulder so I never wanted to risk it by shooting it from the shoulder at a range. I only shoot it on family property

The ATF has made statements that contradict each statement. What will happen is an opinion, which is all this letter and any other letter is, will change depending on how the question is asked. Each ATF letter regarding the sig brace is a response to a specific inquiry.

A fact in this instance is that weapon usage does not determine classification. Weapon design determines classification. I would not worry to much about this at this time.

I don't understand why this is news. Imo, it's always been "illegal" to shoulder the sig brace. Just don't get caught doing it. Simple as that.

Its becoming news because people keep pestering the ATF for letters saying its legal and keep using it incorrectly. Its like they are daring the ATF to make it illegal for some stupid reason. Just check youtube and look at all the videos. I dont think Ive seen a single video of the brace being used as intended.

It is really easy and quick to SBR a gun these days. I had 2 form 1's come back in 32 days this month. The sig brace cost almost as much as the tax stamp.

No, a previous ATF response letter stated in was legal to fire a pistol with a sig brace in any fashion, should included. They reinforced this with the fact the law states a firearm is classified based on its design no how it is used.

Very true. However, for me personally, I like how Sig has challenged the unconstitutional NFA.

+ Stock for SBR + cost of setting up NFA trust + cost of engraving

$130 is pretty cheap...some people want to have an "SBR" the government doesn't know about, or they don't want to wait, or they don't want to spend ALOT more money. The SB15 has it's place for sure.

Yea, I'd say the preference for the Sig brace has a lot more to do with the government not knowing about it than cost.
