A magnifying glass should be placed on BRPD. Especially since this is the third piece of recent bad news for this department.

The worst part is it doesn't even matter if these guys actually do get fired.
They always just end up at another small town PD or Sheriff's Dept and do the same shite over again.

Clement was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of public intoxication, battery on police, resisting an officer and remaining after forbidden.
This is such a ridiculous charge in just about any circumstance I can imagine. If a cop says someone has to leave, and he doesn't, he gets charged with a crime? WTF?

frick the cop who wrote that report. There are a couple officers in that video who need to be fired and put on trial.

Cops working that detail have to know there are cameras there. Why would they make such an easily debunkable lie?
All I know is that I wouldn't drink and drive anywhere near the Varsity for the next few months.

I'm not afraid to stick up for a cop every once and a while, but these cops should be axed today.

exactly. what authority does a cop have to tell you where you can be on public or private property? so stupid

I hope some lawyers start to call to question prosecutions that hinged on that cop's eye witness testimony. He obviously lied.

Should lying on a police report, which can be used in court, be perjury?

Get him for obstructing justice.

I'm almost certain that the cop has committed a felony. I just don't think there's any chance that cops are going to go after their own for it.
Just imagine how many people were prosecuted for felony battery of a police officer who were innocent but didn't have video evidence available to them to exonerate them. Do cops give a frick? No, and that says it all.

I still don't see any video but I'm on my phone.

It is still there. The dude is standing there recording with is phone (not looking aggressive or anything) and a cop rips it out of his hand, The dude looks around like "wtf?" and then next thing you know a cop slams him into the ground and takes the girl next to him down with him. Looked like it probably hurt pretty bad. The worst part of course is how the cops falsified the police report to charge him with felony battery of a police officer.
The cop who yanked his phone should also be in trouble. Where is the video that Clement took anyway? Was it erased? Cops messed up because this kid isn't trashy at all and will likely get a decent lawyer.

I spent a night in Parish prison and that's when I completely lost respect for all the BR cops. They all acted like a bunch of uneducated backwoods hicks, and treated us all like we were mass murderers or child molesters -- cursing at us and degrading us. We had about 15 of us in one large holding cell and we were all trying to sleep -- every once in a while one of the cops would come with his billy club and loudly rap it on the bars to purposely wake us up. Another guy obviously had a bad back and the prison nurse had given him a mattress to sleep on. One of the cops noticed it and went into the cell and pulled it out and made him sleep on the concrete floor. Total dicks who went out of their way to abuse authority.

EBRPP has deputies, not officers. You're dealing with the EBRSO at that point.
