Shot a doe and can't find her. Having lunch and a beer and going back out. If anyone has a dog close or knows someone who does, I got a $100 bill for your time. My first deer I ever shot so If anyone can help, I'd be greatful.
I'll be back in the woods shortly but I've got reception. tigerlauw@gmail.com

Is there any blood at the shot sight? Let me rephrase that. Is there a lot of blood? My lab has tracked before but I do not get off work until 3:00. Hopefully you can find her before the rain. I am in LC and I will check the board before I get off.

Yeah blood, meat, hair just can't find anything else. Hit her with a 7mag. There's a plant that grows in the marsh, I don't know what it's called but it's got blood red spots and it is fricking everywhere and I never noticed until I was trying to follow a blood trail.

She isnt far. When the blood ends...start there and basically head to right 100 yards. Then stop and go back to where you were and go left for 100 yards. Then go a little further straight and repeat the process. This will help you cover a lot of ground without aimlessly walking around.

Wtf is wrong with you guys? I thought I was the only one who was guilty of this shite? I done put a hex on you all for giving me so much shite! Muwahhhahahahah!!! If it hasn't happened to you yet, just wait.....it will. All bs aside, I hope you find her. Also hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle works well in identifying small spots of blood. It will foam even if blood has dried. If you have any.

Going in my blind bag on my next trip to the stand.

I noticed "small red spots" on some saw briars that looked exactly like dried blood. The peroxide will tell the tale. It helps for sure. I've seen a lot of leaves that will play tricks on your eyes. Especially on wet leaves, in the dark, with a flash light.

Thought this was a hunting thread, seems it was a fishing thread and one was caught. Keeper?

Nope.
I took another guy out with us to the spot. He looked at the scene and said she will most likely live. He pointed out to me that all the fur on the ground was white and that I had most probably shot low. Pointed out the direction of the blood spatters with no real spray meant it was flesh wound.
I was using my son in law's rifle (my new scope isn't here yet for my rifle) today so I left our hunting area and took a few practice shots. I was shooting about 3 inches low at 50 yards, about the same distance I was from the doe.
I'm pretty disappointed with the day but I can see why people get hooked on this shite. A few lessons were learned today. Who says you can't teach an old dog new shite?

I did the same thing to one last year. All we could ever find was the short white hair from the belly, figured I shot right below her and just knocked some hairs off.
