It was a meaningless bowl game on Christmas Eve. They all probably just wanted to get home to their families.
I'm not so sure about that. Bowl games mean a whole lot more to these small schools.

Pretty much the definition of a meaningless bowl game. Two 7-5 teams playing out of the country in an empty stadium.

There's not a whole lot of difference between going 8-5 or 7-6, so I would have just gone for the win with the two point conversion as well.

Great play to end regulation, though.

You don't get it. It would have been the greatest comeback in college history.

Low tier bowl for a low tier team... I'm sure they weren't scoffing at the bowl like a powerhouse would.

I agree. It's an exhibition game. Why not just try to end the comeback in a "walk off"? If it were the reg season with something on the line, I'm sure he goes to OT. In a bowl game where you just rattled off 5 TDs in one quarter, just see if can't just end it right then and there while you team is excited and the other team is in shock. It's not like you're risking winning any kind of championship with a loss.

They were playing for a trophy.

And how many bowl games has CMU won in its history?

Sheesh, Tulane's only won four!
