Yeah, we're just a bunch of backwards stupid country folk. So, if my small outdated way of thinking is able to grasp what y'all intellectual giants are saying is that you are just a dumb animal with no special purpose in life other than to exist and live life to it's fullest, unconcerned about thinking about what comes next. Still seems to me that as deep and philosophically sound y'all seem to be, that sure is a shallow thought process.

See, while y'all may be content to viewing yourselves as equals to animals, I think we are all specially crafted and given a higher worth. We have not only brains, but also a spirit. My dog cant wax philosophic about his existence. He can't laugh errantly at other dogs for believing in something different than he does. His greatest concern in life is what flavor his puke will be tomorrow. God made man as man, not as animal. How do atheists explain the spiritual nature of man? Is it just a dilusion for morons, or did we "evolve" that too?

Look, I'm just intrigued at how someone can actually convince themselves that man is nothing more than an evolved super blob of jelly with no worth, existence, or purpose outside of flesh and blood. That spirituality is a farce and a creation can spring from absolutely nothing, not needing a creator (spontaneous generation was utterly disproven back in the bubonic plague days). How do people deny the existence of God and that which is so evident. If someone convinces themself God doesn't exist, does that person think they have plausible deniability when they are standing before God, and in some screwed up way God would let them into heaven?

Well, in that situation, god created us knowing full well the brain we were given... so yeah, plausible deniability. Not really anyone's fault but it's for leaving shite for evidence.

Why are you not living the riskiest life possible in an effort to get to heaven as quickly as possible? If heaven is as amazing as you say it is, why do so many 'true believers' try to prolong their time on earth? Heaven is the goal, you can get there a lot quicker if you don't wear your seatbelts. Maybe one day strap a blindfold on while driving down I-10 and let Jesus take the wheel. I just don't understand why true believers aren't making every effort to get to heaven immediately.

The public high school here, where my youngest son attends, has several teachers that believe the earth is around 6000 years old. How is this belief possible?

I don't know. It doesn't come from the Bible.

You worked too hard on this one.

The answer is that the "spiritual nature" line is hogwash.

Humans don't have a "spiritual nature". Humans have a HUGE desire to explain shite around them. We've done it forever. And, absent an explanation, humans have tended to invoke supernatural explanations.

That's not "spiritual", it's just normal.

It comes from a literal interpretation of the Bible by new Earth creationists.

Agreed. Also agreed on the spiritual nature bit, however, I think the word is inappropriately tied to religious dogma. The term literally means "breath", which is interesting considering the meditation practices focusing on the breath. I think meditation offers a form of spirituality that has nothing to do with religious woo woo and definitely has it's place in a healthy life.

Christians are left to be salt and light. To make sure my children and friends (and yes, i consider yall my friends... E-friends) are told the truth so future generations will at least know, even if they refuse to accept. So fewer ppl will think they will have that plausible deniability. God doesn't want anyone to go to hell, so he both gave his word, law, Bible and also allows those who believe to continue on as messengers and examples until we die.

The apostle Paul put it best when he said "To live is Christ. To die is gain."

I'm not afraid to die. I look forward to heaven. However, my life is not mine to take. When Gods ready for me, I'm prepared. Until then, I'm gonna live in peace and joy knowing what I have through Gods love, grace, and mercy.

A simple google search will yield thousands of results that will demonstrate why what you are saying is absurd. If you'd like, I can find some links for you.

That's my point. It's all up to god. Why take precautions? Why lock your doors? If god wants you to be robbed, isn't that his will?

Oh, I'm sure you will pull all kinds of lies from the Google an claim there truth. Unfortunately, Satan has won with Internet. A shame cause it also. A great means to spread gospel, but misused by most. Surely a sign of tribulation.
