On another note, anyone ever have the dreams when you're BARELY awake and paralyzed?

That's the weird part. You know it for sure happened, but you just can't remember any details.

I always have these three repeating dreams:

1st I'm late for a final and I didn't go to the class all year, I have to run across campus and it takes forever to get there and when I finally sit down at my desk I wake up. Still have this dream and graduated ten years ago.

2nd I'm at work someone comes in and try's to rob the place, I knock the guy out and as I'm standing over him another guy comes up from behind me and shoots me in the back of the head. I can feel myself bleeding then wake up.

3rd I'm driving through the woods i come across the steepest flipping bridge in the world. Im driving straight up, i barely make it to the top and the backside is a straight drop. The car starts to fall and I wake up when I hit the ground.

Hate these dreams.

If only your 3 reoccur in dreams could be:

1). fricking all the hottest bitches all over the world. Whichever random country you decide to travel to, you frick all the baddest bitches who live there.

2). You win the lottery and live a crazy, amazing, luxurious life doing as you please. New adventure every day.

3). You frick all of the baddest bitches in the world.

Why do most people's reoccurring dreams have to be scary or bad?

Yeah

Funny thing is my brother has had two of those dreams too. The bridge and school dreams. To me those seem like everybody would have those. But I hate getting shot, it sucks.

Sleep paralysis is a huge bitch. I can't eat before bed or sleep on my back.. or the fricking bogeyman gonna show up.

You know for certain you are taking your last breaths.. can't scream for help.. can't move.. and then you finally break out of paralysis and live on

I remember the dozens of times in my 38 years of dreaming of the falling in a elevator dream. Wake up every time I hit bottom. Had 2 nucular explosion dreams and one UFO invasion dream I still remember vividly. Several of the classic naked in public dreams too.

I have the recurring bridge dreams, too.
What's weird is that while dreaming, I'll recognize this dream from the past and formulate plans on how to react to it, like gunning the engine so I hopefully jump the drop-off or bailing out before the edge or even bailing out on the way down.

I have a late for test/failing a class dream quite often.

I also have another similar one where we are trying to drive up an almost 90 degree incline

My lucid dreams are weird. I talked with my subconscience the other night. It was a younger version of myself, frail and in the corner of the room. I asked him whats wrong with me and why I am not happy. I didnt get an answer and I woke up. Hopefully i can meet my subconscience again and get a real answer.

Id like to think im a happy person

I actually remember a dream very seldom, maybe once a year. When I do remember one, it's always very strange.

and then can't remember any of it 2 minutes after you wake up. Creeps me out man.

I have one of the best memories out of anyone I know. I remember shite from when I was 4. I remember every conversation with others and every detail.

Then I'll have this elaborate-arse dream for what seems like hours........then nothing. It's like someone MIB flashy light thingy wipes my memory clear.

My (admittedly non expert and probably wildly off) guess would be:

That remembering the dreams is not necessary, and perhaps may even be counter-productive for whatever purposes dreams serve.

I think I've herd or seen it said that dreams are the mind's way of sorting out and kind of "filing away" people's experiences and worries. Thus, maybe once they've been filed away it would do no good to have them still in active memory.

Wow. Tell a therapist that. If you happen to randomly meet one. Not in therapy.

Anyone else experience your dreams harder to remember the more you think about them? It's like I'm trying to recall what happened and the dream literally disappears in front of me.

Yep. Pee dream sucks. Why the bladder is not paralyzed as well is shitty.

My dreams are always dark, always have been too. I get sleep paralysis almost nightly so sleep is something my brain sees as a negative experience.

The way to remember your dreams is to recite the dream outloud as soon as you wake up. It has to be immediate.
