Everyone is confused about their ancestry. That's to be expected. Many blacks are convinced they possess a higher percentage of native American ancestry and a lower percentage of European ancestry then the facts bear out.

That's so weird that there would be more black/white inter-racial mix in States where there are more white/black people living side by side for hundreds of years. I guess that means California probably has more people with some European/ Asian genetic component than in Kentucky. That's so weird. Who would have guessed? Next thing you know, we will find out that there is a higher percentage of white/Hispanic ancestry in South Texas! Crazy unknown top-secret stuff.

I'm 100 percent certain that one of my great great grandmothers was black. Name was Loucretia and looked just like Frederick Douglass.

I'm German/German/Irish/English . My wife is Vietnamese. When my daughter was born she had a genetic marker for Alpha Thalassemia 1. We found out the blood disease occurs like overwhelmingly in SE Asians AND MAYBE LIKE 3% people of Middle Eastern descent. Damn Mrs Pimp, your genes suck!
Alpha thalassemia minor can exist in two forms:
alpha-thal-1 (aa/--), associated with Asians, involves cis deletion of both alpha genes on the same chromosome;
So we got the blood work done and against all statistical odds it was me. Da Joos apparently! Great Gramps was a Rabbi in Germany. Darn Joos! Usurping my genes!

There's no such thing as an American Indian in the U.S. There's a such thing as Indian American (eg. Bobby Jindal), but the Choctaws, Cherokees, Seminoles, etc. are pureblooded Americans. There's nothing Indian about them.
