He better start if he wants to have a job in the league in a couple years.

he's ahead of the timeline compared to some. many guys don't realize this until they are out of the league.

having said that, the some I refer to are almost never successful and he's done his best to impress no one so far.

If he has to say this kind of thing out loud, he's already a lost cause IMO.

Even if he were a totally boring guy like Peyton who has his head in the playbook he was going to have a tough time transistioning to the NFL. He likes to party a bit too much. Unless you are supremely talented (at the NFL level) you can't get away with that. You can't be successful long term with a QB that likes to party.

he was saying this from day one and it didn't change a thing. i sat here and said the same very thing to start the season out. he has known better.

so really this is not encouraging. again, it's just words now.

With a quote like that, I hope he fails in the NFL. People who say shite like that are losers. That's all I think of Johnny Manziel right now.

If there is a bright spot, the Saints didn't waste a high draft pick on this clown.

He was way too cavalier coming in. JJ watt had a problem with mettenberger taking selfies. God help manziel if he ever went against Watt.

I'm hoping he meant this offseason he's gonna have to nut up & get his shite together or he will get cut.

People don't usually change, they are who they are. Manziel has never cared about anything but himself and never had to really work hard. It's clear he's always just been about himself, having a good time, etc. He's gonna flail around another year or two and then peace out.

NFL = not for long

Dude has no physical measurables and no good fundamentals or consistency, easiest bust anyone should have ever seen coming.

I think we all knew he was publicity stunt. This just confirms it.

Exactly.
If a bunch of guys on a message board can see that this fool was a bust from the beginning, why couldn't a NFL franchise team see this?

Cleveland wasted a first round draft pick.

Nope. He's undersized and not athletic enough to make this a long term career. I don't see him being a full time student of the game and he never will be.

Johnny Manziel admits he has to take being a pro "a lot more seriously than maybe I did at (first)." In expansive comments Tuesday, Manziel was both contrite and somewhat defiant. "This is a job for me now," Manziel said. "I haven't painted the greatest picture of me of being in here and staying on top of myself." Manziel also implored the Browns to stick with him, saying "I don't think it would be fair to give up on somebody after seven quarters of football." The Browns' commitment to Manziel for 2015 is very much an open question.

why? hes:
small
slow
below average arm
immature
not football savvy
not a leader
not committed

wheres the upside to keeping him around if youre a franchise other than saving face on a colossal bust of a draft pick?

now we know why so many teams passed on him. HIs college hype so far has not translated into NFL ability

Lot of people didn't think it would, I for one. What's going on in his head is as important as anything else. He's got an average arm at best, and the throws he made in college will never work at the NFL but he could have been and may still be a good backup. He came in with a terrible demeanor though, figured it would turn people off quickly.
