One of the people who helped put together the mass prayer rally Gov. Bobby Jindal will host at LSU in January has also helped arrange closed-door meetings with pastors for Jindal in South Carolina as well as Iowa.

Jindal is likely to meet privately with the South Carolina pastors some time in March, according to David Lane, who heads up the American Renewal Project, which brings together conservative Christian leaders and politicians. Lane is involved with Jindal's prayer rally at LSU, officially called The Response, and has also organized two similar, closed-doors meetings for Jindal with Iowa pastors Jan. 6.

Even legit Christians have to be turned off with this blatant as frick pandering.

It's so disgusting.

I wouldn't give a flying frick about it absent the blatant political hackery underlying the whole thing. The Jehova's Witnesses have been holding annual rallies at the Maravich Center for years, and I couldn't care less.

They should tax the churches that every one of these "pastors" represent.

Do churches have profits to tax? My church either spends or gives away literally every dollar it takes in.

they should tax the churches....what do you think would have happened if the state of Alabama had tried to tax MLK's church? Or of someone tried to levy taxes on Jeremiah Wright's house of worship?

Meh...I don't know what Jindal may have done wrong here.

All that needs to be said about Jindal is he's a whore for political office and will do/say ANYTHING.

Does that make him different from 97.6 percent of politicians? No. I just choose not to praise and worship him like the Jindal Republicans (Jindalcans) in Louisiana do, especially when he's been such a flip-flopper and flat-out liar on some state issues.

Funny I told the truth. Personally I do not support restricting what goes on in any church. Black churches usually are more openly political than a lot of white ones.

You did not see my previous post. Churches don't have any profits that I am aware of. They either pay out the money they take in to salaries of employees or give it away through charity programs. There would be literally nothing for the Federal government to tax.
