Backlash against Obama for not treating dead Policmen same as Brown and Garner

In the wake of the Brown and Garner cases, our president felt the need to hold a formal press conference at the podium with the entire nation/world watching. He sent the attorney general and even promised a federal investigation even after the grand jury verdict.
Then, after two law enforcement officers in NYC were gunned down and also one in Florida, he simply issued a written statement FROM THE GOLF COURSE (literally).
What are your thoughts on this?
