Deaf people passing out cards asking for donations

Was approached the other day by one. The card he gave me basically said he was deaf and was needing money to pay bills...blah, blah, blah.
How legit do you think these are?
I have always felt it was another "flat tire and trying to make it to see parents in the hospital" scam type deal but I am pretty cynical.
Ever been tempted to test it and see by like talking shite about them or something?

If it was money going towards research it would seem legit. That doesn't seem legit to me. Are deaf people that prohibited from working?

I would figure some completely deaf people would qualify for disability too.

I doubt every single one of them can.

This happened to me yesterday. I was like where is the card? Apparently the piece of paper saying they were deaf was the card. I showed her I had no cash and she left.

Yea, I figured as much.
I always tell everyone asking for money that I don't keep cash on me no matter what.

Some may be truly be deaf, but they are all lazy fricks. Deaf people can get jobs.

Next time if they don't seem legit act like you're deaf too.
Same as when a bum asks you for money. Before they say it, beat them to it and ask them for money.

Long ago in Laurel, MS the deaf man handed me one of those cards in a parking lot. It had the hand language on it. I was in my pickup. The card said he was giving me the card for a donation. I gave him some money and he demanded the card back from me. He took the card, kept the money and walked away. When he got to the front end of my truck I blew the horn and he jumped.

This has happened to me. What I do is sign to them that my grandparents are deaf (which is true) and then ask them some question or something random. The one time it happened to me the person looked at me stunned and walked away. Happened to my aunt and the person signed to them and talked for awhile so she gave them money

A few years ago my friend got a flat on his truck in the middle of December and it was pouring. We were in the Home Depot parking lot and some woman drove up in a newer Chevy saying her dad was sick in NOLA and she needed money to buy new tires to make it that far to see him. My friend went off on her because he was already pissed we were soaked and freezing. I wish I had filmed it because it was pure awesome.
I will let you guess whether or not she voted for Obama.

That's pretty legit. I may need to learn "frick you" in sign.

I had a dude do the same thing asking for signatures for some deaf program... Like a petition. I signed it.
