Since every Sunday people want to say how bad a coaching job Leslie did last year not winning s championship with all those studs on offense, how are our rookie defenders doing? They are all around the league apparently. Oh wait they aren't. They are all around the league as second and third year players basically. That's why we didn't win championship. Sorry I realize this thread should not be needed.

Our defense was top 20 nationally and #3 in the SEC last year.

Offense has a good year and everyone blames the defense...bunch of retards.

Oh and wasn't the defense ranked in top 20 last year? Or higher than the offense?

Well, we did need AJ to come in and pull out a miracle 99-yard drive with time running out to beat a winless-in-the-SEC Arkansas team in Tiger Stadium. So the offense wasn't quite a machine.

Maybe Les shouldn't have kept Jeremy Hill on the bench for most of the first half at Ole Miss last year. With guys like Mett, Landry, Beckham, and Hill, maybe we shouldn't hand the ball to a defensive lineman at the goal line against Bama.

Well hey since we are calling people retards how did that defense do against Georgia. Retard. Or Alabama as they got destroyed. Hell even against ole miss our interceptions were all deep in their territory so but they still put up a bunch of points. Retard

I apologize for calling you a retard. I was wrong. You're a dumbass for trying to call the defense out when they ranked higher nationally than the offense.

So the defensive rookies aren't shining but the offensive ones are...what does that tell you about coaching? I doubt you will make the connection.

We finally got a stop vs UGA late in the game and OBJ muffed a punt, giving the ball back to UGA in great field position and they scored.

Mett threw 3 1st half picks vs Ole Miss and Hill fumbled, but recovered it, and Miles still benched him.

We take the ball and drive it down Bamas throat and then JC Copeland fumbles on the 1. Next series, Mett fumbles the snap.

Playing the blame game is fricking retarded. Mistakes are made on both sides of the ball.

Mett threw 3 picks in a single half. Tough to win on the road when you're turning the ball over like that. And you're right, the picks were deep in OM territory. In fact, two of them were in the end zone. This was all against a patchwork defense-recall, OM was missing more than a couple key defenders. I hate having to defend that defense but truth is, that loss was squarely on the O.

This all day long.

We gave Cam a lot of credit for last year, but now we see that we had an NFL offense. How do we not score more than 17 against Alabama? How do we play so terribly against Ole Miss and Arkansas? How does this offense score 6 points against Florida the year before when the defense was amazing or lose to Alabama in Tiger Stadium because we can't pick up a first down?

I get that we won't win every game. But, the talent on the offensive side of the ball the past couple of years was just sick. What they are doing in the NFL proves it. And, LSU's offense still struggled against college defenses - mightily at times.

Since people like to point our how our offense didn't show up in the biggest games, how about the defense? Gave up 525 yards of offense to Ole Miss and 27 points. Gave up 494 yards of offense and 44 points to UGA. Gave up 464 yards of offense and 26 points to MSU. Gave up 372 yards (at 6 yards per play) and 38 points to Bama. Also gave up 360 yards at 5.71 yard per play and 27 points to Arkansas. I would put Auburn's 437 yards and 21 points up there, but most of that was in garbage time.

Only really good defensive effort LSU put up on any decent offense, was what they did against TAMU and early on against Auburn.

TCU, UAB, Kent State, UF, Furman, and Iowa, were terrible on offense. LSU's defensive ranking in 2013 was a statistical fact, but on field lie.

I remember how excited I was when teams had to punt in 2013 because they would just fricking slaughter us most of the game.

I'm glad some people aren't reading stats and saying our defense was good last year.
