That whatever/ whenever something bad happens, it's gotta be the fault of Obama, Holder, 'liberals', or all of the above.

It's pretty obvious the Tea Party/ Bundy folks weren't responsible for the deranged assholes in Vegas, just as its pretty obvious that Obama, Holder and the politicians commenting here aren't responsible for the deranged a-hole in NYC.

I think any rational person can see the similarities in the situations and conclude that either a movement can be responsible for the acts of a crazy person or it can't.

Your Obama Derangement Syndrome just won't let you admit it. And that's a shame.

You do realize that the 47% meme is based on Federal income taxes, right? And that local police are paid through property and local taxes, which damn near 100% of the people in the area you serve pay directly or indirectly?

So are the people talking about ideas responsible for the crazies who take those ideas to the extreme or not?

I feel like it's pretty cut and dried...

ETA: and with that, I'm off to bed. Always a pleasure

First, the people who have a problem with cops today aren't all liberal, it crosses numerous philosophical lines.

Second, it's not all the cops fault, over the years due to fear and the drug war they've been empowered by the people to be overly intrusive and trained to treat citizens as threats. Then post 9/11 they transformed into the militarized police force we have today, swatting and no-knocking all sorts of nonviolent and minor crimes. And the civil forfeiture fiasco - aka legal state theft.

And third, and finally, the cops are unionized big gov that basically protect their own and don't hold the bad within their ranks accountable...you've sullied your own reputation.

That doesn't justify murder, but don't come in here and demand acceptance of the police as they are today. Don't demand people not criticize you. You work for us, we need you, but we need you to be better than you've been.

A higher standard ?

What about the standard for all Americans. Sure, there are some smart azz cops, most are the young guys who have a lot to learn, but the facts are if thugs rush our cops they have a right to use deadly force. If a man resists arrest, he should expect to be taken down, and if his bad health kills him, then he should have got his big azz down.

Here is the real key, guys like you, liberals, realize that the country is actually conservative and religious more so than not, and the only shot you liberals have to win elections is to drive racial divides amongst the country, if Christian blacks actually voted their heart, they would vote pro conservative, but instead you buy their vote with freebies, you lie, GONNA PUT YA BACK IN CHAINS, fear monger, divide, to further your homosexual, baby murdering agenda.

But that's going to fail you in the end. People wise up when they are being used.

It is entirely possible to respect the hell out of cops while simultaneously expecting they be held to a higher standard than those they seek to protect us from.

Wow, you are fricking nuts. The country (and the world) is becoming less and less religious by the year. There is a racial divide in this country and we are making progress. Honestly, once a couple more generations die out it probably won't be much of an issue. The effects from the past, however, still linger today.

LOL.

You are such an elitist that you have no clue what you speak of.

The world has more religious people(s) now than ever before by virtue of the shear number of people on earth.

2.2 Billion Christians worldwide.

1.6 Billion Muslims worldwide

1 Billion Hindus

500 million Buddhists

14 Million Jews

458 million belong to OTHER RELIGIONS

That is roughly 5.8 billion religious people in the world today, MORE THAN EVER BEFORE.

The Pew Research poll found that 1.1 Billion people around the world have NO/ZERO religious affiliation.

You take the miniscule world in which you live and transcribe it unto all the world. That is what pin head liberals do.

There is more Christians living on earth today than ever before.

You problem is, if you think you are intelligent, but you aren't. The only people getting less religious is the dimwits who are getting brainwashed in our schools and colleges.

Just b/c someone claims or identify with a religion doesn't mean they practice it faithful.

You are so simplistic

I blame the nanny state regulations that cops are asked to enforce than cops thselves.

Why should cops be asked to enforce tax laws on tobacco? Doesn't NY have a Departmemt of Revenue? Let their agents do that, or better yet just ditch those stupid 'sin' taxes altogether. Why is a government in the business of declaring what is sinful in the first place? Is government a god? A religion?

What about the war on drugs and no knock raids? Idiot laws that invite deadly enforcement tactics.

Why should anyone care about my expired inspection sticker. Some states don't even have them. It's a damn tax masquerading as a safety rule.

We and the cops should stick to the basics of murder, rape and theft.

I have been a cop for 25 years. I live modest and made that choice. For all you that chastise or criticize the job we are policemen do take a minute and think. Are cops perfect? NO! Do we make mistakes? Yes! Are there some bad cops? Yes! But the next time your feel we are dirty, prejudice, immoral or corrupt, handle your own issues. I say this to the 48% of your that pay my salary. The other 52% unfortunately are the persons that call cops to handle every issue in their lives. Every person I call for a service I pay for it. Bsnker, realtor, mechanic, etcetera. If you fear me tony call me. Handle you own issues. From Ferguson to New York I support your right to protest. Let me ask you how many protests, debates, news conferences, actors or politicians have stepped up a spoken on behalf of the slain officers family. Few if any. Next time you pick up that phone and ask for help consider what would happen if no one answered. We as cops are not perfect. But we deserve better than being gunned downed without a chance to defend ourselves. Make a joke if you want but two kids with no criminal record will never see their father again and not by their actions. RIP my brothers.

Hey, why are you going after liberals?

Most of the people you target are against violence in general. Hence, most of the protestors are peaceful in nature. The guy that shot the cops was a lone crazy wolf. It's the same as Gabby Giffords. Damn those who try to blame violence on free speech. We all mourn these police officers that were killed for no reason and I will never try to equivocate the deaths of innocent civilians being shot by cops with this tragedy. Please don't lump them together or blame protestors/ politicians for 1 crazy idiot.

We have over stressed, under trained police officers trying to help in very dangerous situations. There is a lot of ignorance out there and we appreciate your comments but they are incredibly ignorant too. Don't paint all liberals with the same brush so we won't need to paint the police back with their own brush.

You're wrong. Everyone of any substance has condemned what happened and is saddened for the families.

The police, like in many respects, are like the military in that we expect more from them than those they must sometimes fight and kill. I suppose when you're surrounded by people who have no regard for human life, out of his own safety and frustration he may sometimes or think about sometimes slip up.

The world isn't black and white no race pun intended), us against them and the ends justify the means. Your post suggest you live is such a faux world categorizes and generalizing. However one can feel for the families while at the same time recognize there are improvements that can and should made.
