I think it is BsFF. Think Secretaries of State, Attorneys General, Culs de sac, and LemonsAde.

Hoopshype had links up on this.

Apparently Sac had lobbied for him this past offseason but SVG wanted to coach him before making a decision. Oops.

Cutting him was the choice over packaging him with picks like Gordon and or taking back really bad contracts.

While I am a SVG fan, I'd have at least considered taking Sacramento's deal just to get Smith out and lock up Monroe and Drummond for the long term. Passing on that offer only to release him was a big gamble that failed massively.

Cunningham is a much better basketball player than Smith. If you have watched both, there's no way you disagree.

Whatever he signs for will reduce the amount Detroit owes him, but there's nothing to stop him from being spiteful and playing for the minimum like Andray Blatche did.

It's really not spiteful at all. It's a matter of putting the team you are going to play for ahead of the team that you used to play for. It's the smart thing to do from a professional and competitive standpoint.

There was spite involved with Blatche.

I'm sure it can satisfy that revenge bone, but I think helping out your new team would be the overriding reason.

Well according to John Reid, Josh Smith is the small forward the Pelicans have been searching for.

John Reid is embarrassing. It is a complete travesty that that idiot has a job with a major (?) newspaper and the guys from BBS or tBW don't.

Seriously, I'd rather them not cover the Pels at all. It fricking blows my mind that this can write an article this misinformed and get payed for it. literally no idea when it comes to the NBA.

There's probably about 20 posters on here alone that could put together better Pels coverage with the resources that NOLA.com has.

John Reid also retweeted some kid from Louisville that thinks starting Russ Smith would solve our "offensive problems." Not that his retweet is an endorsement, but why retweet that?

All it takes is the right environment. Monta Ellis was a knuckleheaded shot chucker before he went to Dallas.

The right environment for Josh Smith is the Chinese League.

Well considering we can't control the knucklehead shot chucker we already have, i don't like our chances with Smith.

What he did with the Pistons is completely irrelevant. That team is hopeless.
