Gotta love the "hate" towards a guy (Welter) who has done nothing but work and play hard for our team for 4+ years, never got in trouble, played some good football, but not good enough for some of you...

Oh this thread? Just stopping by to let you know I downvoted it.

Anyway, my vote is for Cameron Gamble.

Are players allowed to turn down the #18? I wouldn't want to be told to change my #, especially if I have made a name for myself in another jersey #.

The 18 is a curse imo

WTF? Just the last 3 years, Brandon Taylor, Bennie Logan, Lamin Barrow were 3rd, 3rd, and 5th round pick ups.

How in the hell do you think traditions start? Did you think LSU just magically start wearing white jerseys as the home jersey?

I like that we have our own personal football traditions.

I guarantee you in the locker room the number is a high honor and people respect it as a leadership number. Just because it physically means nothing doesn't mean it's worthless.

yes and no, that potential list of 18's are culled to 2-3 in the summer and are approached about if they want to be #18. If they do not want to change nmubers (has happened once I heard of) that is fne, then the coaches, players and some support personnel (Greg Strigfellow, Doug Aucion, Sam Nader, M Bonnette), former 18's and a few "boosters" who have sway make the call. In most years it is down to 1-2 and I am sure Miles breaks any "ties."

If Jalen Collins is on the team, it's him.

yeah those NFL personnel directors who look at #18 as a character award are very very over-rated

I can only think of Kwon. If OL could get it, I'd give it to Vadal, but they can't. Kwon seems like the perfect guy to hand it to.

as nick saban would say. This is clutter. You are getting away from what really matters and that is just winning. I'm confused bc the only thing that matters is the W. Clutter. Just thing about it

I agree, heart and soul. Kwon is the ideal choice.

I don't see this as clutter. I like it. Admirable honor. Good recognition for a leader, "quality" guy.
