I don't follow UFC that much, but is there a legitimate reason to think Cormier will win this one? Hasn't Jones dominated all but one fighter (Gustafsson) in his career? Or is it just wishful thinking due to Jones being such a douchebag?

Jones has dominated all but one fighter, Cormier has dominated every round of every fight and is undefeated.

Yeah, they've both pretty much dominated everyone they've faced (at HW & LHW) and both are really undefeated. Probably the biggest fight between 2 undefeated fighters that I can ever remember. Been ready for this match-up since last summer.

Me too, its gonna be so sick! DC 100% TD defense is amazing, think about that and the dudes he has faced! I think January could be the best MMA month ever!

Cormier is the real deal. But I don't know if he can overcome Jon's crazy reach advantage.

Jones has been able to dictate all fights to this point with his wrestling. Cormier is on another planet than Jones with his wrestling so at the least that evens the playing field more than any other fighter Jones has faced.

I am pulling for Louisiana boy, Daniel Cormier, but I think he ends up getting his arse kicked. Jones reach is going to destroy him.

I am calling Jones win via head kick KO in the 3rd round.

Cormier is as elite a wrestler as you could possibly have in UFC, has dominated every fight he's been in, and is ridiculously strong and crafty. If he wants to take someone down, he can. If he wants to keep someone there, he pretty much can.

Jones is just huge. He's so much longer than Cormier, has a giant reach advantage, is a much better striker and is not a bad wrestler at all.

It all comes down to who does what they do best. Cormier needs to just keep it on the mat. Take Jones there and keep him there for the entire round. Do not care if it is boring or if the crowd doesn't like it.

Jones needs to do what he does, and he needs to keep Cormier away and just pound him.

It is an interesting fight. I really WANT Daniel to win so it may be wishful thinking.

They have Jones as having a better takedown Offense and Defense, which is just laughably false I would imagine.

But Jones is a beast, no doubt.

not really true, since a guy who fought this month in tUFC won a gold medal in freestyle wrestling in the olympics. But yeah, Cormier is an elite wrestler.

I don't think this is necessarily true & I think DC's gameplan will to keep it standing early on (unless the takedown is just there). Cormier has more power in his hands and probably feels pretty confident in the clinch. I know he went 5 rounds with Barnett a while back @ HW, but it'll be interesting to see how his cardio holds up.
