Whatever his raise was, he deserves more.

Please keep in mind he hasn't signed it. Jim Kleinpeter has posted an inaccurate report on NOLA.com stating that he has signed it.

Per what I heard on the radio from Ponamsky, he has a new contract offer. It's been on his desk. But it is not signed per what he reported, and he mentioned that.

Kleinpeter is misreporting it based on what I heard. The podcast will be up shortly and you can hear what I'm talking about. But the point is that this is not a done deal yet.

I am glad for him and Merry Early Christmas to his agent. Aleva must be the biggest succor in the world to negotiate with. All you have to do is start a rumor of another job opportunity ( take your pick- Michigan, Ar-Kansas, A&M ) and he will break the checkbook out.

I'm not seeing any confirmation that he has agreed to the extension. Only accurate reports (including the radio that the OP mentioned) is that Chavis was offered an extension.

There's a reason assistant coaches move around so much... Because alot of times they don't get their worth. LSU has been better than almost anyone at keeping assistant coaches in place which is a really great thing IMO.
