I don't hate it but I'm depressed a lot of the time. I miss my parents most at Christmas time.
We were dirt poor but they always made Christmas time a pure delight.

I don't hate it. But traveling, getting together with family is not relaxing for me in the least.
It was cool as a kid because I would get stuff. But now I can buy myself all the stuff I want. Just another day for me now.

If it was during a warmer time of year, I would like Christmas.
If they didn't start advertising for Christmas after Halloween, I would like Christmas.
If they didn't have the same shitty music playing everywhere for 2 months, I would like Christmas
If traffic was better during the holidays, I would like Christmas
If all my free time was not consumed by get-togethers, I would like Christmas
If my HOA didn't require some form of Christmas decoration, I would like Christmas
If my birthday was not the same as Jesus', I would like Christmas
If people wouldn't question me about why I don't like Christmas, I could like Christmas

i joke that i hate christmas. i don't really HATE christmas. i hate the season and what it does to people, though
this is a myth. people,at least grown ups, are fricking stressed the frick out during the christmas season
i disagree, but it's purely subjective. to me, they are not. you can find them beautiful and enjoy them without offending me or anything.

The very reason for celebrating Christmas, is not so much to gift material things, but to give of yourself. Time, is the most precious resource we have, as long as you sacrifice your (quality) time to those you love and your fellowman all will be well with you and yours.
I've known many friends that were from well off families. There parents thought they could buy their love with expensive gifts and such, when all the kids wanted from them was their time and love.
Make the time you have with your family count,give them love, they will appreciate it more than any material gift in the end.

i don't know if telling a mom, who admitted she's doing to be completely miserable b/c she can't have her kids all day on Xmas, that time is the best gift you can give is the right response

I have a friend whose four year old son died on Christmas Day. He hates Christmas.
