Did you watch Seattles defense last nite? If so you might learn something for next year. That's how I want you to start playing defense.

I'm having brunch with Saints Defense tomorrow. I'll pass your message along to Saints Defense.

Saints defense wasn't the issue yesterday

Offense really showed up in crunch time. Zero drives for a score in first half. Awesome performance I thought.

It's kind of hard to be the Seahawks defense when their personnel are 10x better than what the Saints are putting out on the field for defense

The saints offense was shut out by the worst defense in the league. The defense held atl.

While they played better than they have this season (not saying much) they got no pressure on Ryan even when blitzing and several receivers were running wild in our secondary.
But I do agree we would have won the game if it weren't for ineptitude on offense (mostly the line) and Jimmy tarding out on numerous occasions. Drew's pick at a critical moment sure didn't help either. However, had we put up any points on offense (first TD excluded) before very late in the game, the Falcon's would have been playing major catch up.

They were also out on the field for most of the game and, imo, did their part. If the offense would have had any success whatsoever, the D probably would have held up better.

Hey Saints Defense
We as a fanbase would like to apologize to you. You have played well enough to win the entire season and the offense has shite the bed. Drew Brees himself is directly and solely responsible for 3 losses this season at minimum. You have proven that while young, and sometimes injured as a whole, the squad will step up when you need to. The offense unfortunately, gives you no breaks, short fields, and deflates the team momentum each and every time you put us in a good position. As a loyal and rational fanbase we would like to not only apologize for shitting on you but commend you for not once but twice giving our offense the chance to win the Atlanta game. In summation: frick the offense this year. We are exited to see how this defense will play next year.
Yours truly,
Those who have taken off their black and gold goggles they bought in 2009.

The Saints don't have enough talent for an NFL defenses. They can watch all the tape of other teams they want and wish to play that way but that won't make this group capable of doing it.

And for those of you dumbfricks who still want to rag on the defense:
1st Quarter:
Special teams sets Offense up on the 1 yard line and they score
Atlanta goes 7 plays, 55 yards in 3min 25sec and gets a field goal
Saints 1 minute 3 and out, punt
Atlanta, 2 minute 3 and out, punt
Saints, 9 plays, 31 yards, 4 minutes, Brees throws a pick
Atlanta, 3 plays, -9(yes negative) yards, 1 min, punt
Saints, 3 plays, -2 yards, 2 minutes, punt
1st Quarter totals:
Saints Special Teams - 7 points
Saints offense, 0 points, twice go 3 and out in less than 2 minutes and throw an interception
2nd Quarter:
Atlanta - 7 plays, 32 yards, 4 mins, field goal
Saints - 11 plays, 31 yards, 6min, punt
Atlanta - 15 plays, 89 yards, 5 min 33 sec, Touchdown
Saints - kneel the ball and go to halftime
Halftime - 13-7 Falcons, Offense has 0 points, twice gone 3 and out, and interception, and 2 punts with a grand total of about 50 yards of offense.
Third Quarter:
Atlanta gets the ball, defense stops them. 5 plays, 23 yards, 3 minutes and a punt
Saints - 5 plays, 16 yards, 2 minutes and a punt.
Atlanta - 7 plays, 86 yards, 3 mins 40 secs, touchdown
4th Quarter -
Saints finally show some life going 13 plays for 78 yards in almost 6 minutes only to have pussyfrick soft arse not worth the money piece of shite Graham fumble the ball in the endzone.
Atlanta - 9 plays, 37 yards, 5 mins, punt. Defense holding strong
Saints - offense decides to start playing football 12 plays, 87 yards, 3 min, 40 sec TOUCHDOWN
Atlanta - 5 plays, 34 yards 3 mins, and a punt. The dome is electric as we await brees to take the field.
SO THE DEFENSE puts the game in a winning position. Down 20 - 14 they only need one score to win the game. TO raise the season up. To get into the playoffs, to win the division, to beat the falcons, to repay the fanbase, to show the NFL they can do it.
Saints offense takes the field, the dome falls quiet. Brees takes the snap, drops back, throws an easy interception right into the hands of a cornerback who didnt even have to try to ice the game.
Atlanta then goes 4 plays for 0 yards and kicks a field goal.
Offense takes the field again. Can they come back?!?! Let's see.
They go 10 plays for 69 yards in a two minute drill only to have Brees fumble the ball and it go for a touchdown.
Brees lost that game single handedly twice in the fourth quarter. frick him. And frick Payton's playcalling.
