Perhaps they redefined black on black murders as "workplace incidents".

Last year was the lowest since 1965 and last I heard, this year was on pace to be even lower.

Following a year when Chicago led the nation in homicides with more than 500, the city's Police Department said Wednesday that in 2013 the city recorded the fewest killings since 1965 and saw its overall crime rate fall to level not seen since 1972.

So you're willing to give him credit from dropping the crime rate, but gloss ove the fact that the previous year his city lead the nation in homicides...

So Chicago stopped recording after a certain number was reached?

Probably more like the 1st string killers killed each other off and Chicago was left with a bunch of inexperienced scrubs that did more wounding than killing.

Expect those numbers to rise as they get more trigger time.

Why? Was there an issue filing the report?

It's been steadily decreasing for about a decade.

400 - 500 per year in a city of 3 million isn't great, but it's a lot better than a lot of American cities and puts us right about in the middle for major American cities.

It's a damn site better than the 900 - 1000 a year we were getting in the 1990's.

So, in 2012 Chicago led the Nation in homicides. But in 2013 it's the lowest ever? What an odd statistic.

Then how did you lead the nation in homicides in 2012?
