With the new Cuban/American political landscape, we can solve one of the blights on American pro sports. What to do with any team in South Florida.

Or as a former OKC resident and now a Thunder fan, move the Mariners to Havana to give the Marlins a rival and pit the Cubans vs the Miami Cubans. Seattle doesn't deserve any pro teams past the WNBA and soccer.

Miami is one of the worst fan bases in sports. Why move a Seattle team for a city that has proven year in and year out they suck at supporting a their team.

There are other teams with less fan support than Seattle. Rays, Indians, White Sox, Marlins, Astros, Royals and Athletics all had worse attendance last season. They should just remove the Marlins.

They won't move them. I think it would be a good idea to play 10-25 games a year there though. If it's successful then start a team there. But I can't imagine being an 18yr old kid drafted out of HS say frick yeah I'm going to Cuba!

Woah

A decent Astros team will have good attendance.

The problem with the Astros now is that no one knows who is on the team. No stars. The Root Sports network problem being solved will help all of that.

The new owner has not exactly helped things.

They should revamp the stadium a little. Make it fun or popular to go to an Astros game.

Usually the problem with any teams attendance is their record. Seattle sold many tickets when they are good. But you have to remember it has been since 2001. However, even with the bad years their revenue has been good. They are about the middle of the pack in MLB for team revenue. That is why they won't move.

people there are too poor

But Cuba could be the vegas killer.

Slots, Gaming, Whores, And Beautiful beaches and resorts. Cuba is surrounded by some Aqua blue, crystal clear water.

Before Castro, Cuba was a major destination for tourists wanting luxury gaming and resorts on the beach.

I've called Cuba the last great land rush. For no less than 20 years.

When that place fully opens to capitalism and some sort of democracy... it'll be a madhouse and race between cartel money and Jewish investments.

The Marlins in Havana is actually a tremendous idea, on paper. Can't see it happening in our lifetimes though even if all trade restrictions with Cuba are lifted tomorrow.

What?
Then why aren't they investing in Puerto Rico? You don't even need a passport?

Dumb thread is dumb.

If you've never been I highly suggest you go before the place does fully open. It's a beautiful time capsule on a tropical island right now. Go if you're capable.

Your thread is pretty ridiculous, but the Marlins in Havana would be brilliant.

Many youngsters don't know, but Cuba was a tourist trap for the rich and famous.

Gambling, sun, being treated like kings and royalty.

Vegas casino owners better try and grease palms for beach property, because Cuba will be the next big tourist trap for the rich and famous.

Exactly. So, again, if you can go do so before it gets ruined.
