I might be wrong , but I believe the playoff change was already in the works at the end of last year. If I remember correctly Goodell had already talked about adding an extra playoff team to both NFC and AFC as of last year and it was tabled during the offseason but was definitely going to be in effect for the 2015 season if approved by the owners which as I understood it would be no problem. But I get what you are saying.

I remember a lot of pissed off people when Seattle got in and hosted a playoff game. I'm ok with this change if they make it. 8-8 doesn't bother me as bad but 7-9 doesn't deserve to go to the playoffs.

. The overtime also had to do with Peyton watching the Chargers win in OT a year earlier.

This is an issue since seemingly happening more regularly. It's really dumb IMO. They should get rid of divisions completely.
