NOLA.com

I know we are pretty stacked at RB and may not have had room with DG & NB in the class, but did we ever recruit this kid hard prior to his initial Nebraska pick?

I think we dabbled with him at another position but we never really recruited him hard

I followed him closely. With the right RB, and strength and conditioning coach, he could be a gem by his Junior year. He is more of a project.

I wish this kid all the best...

whenever I see a kid like this I think of Forte and wonder if we missed seeing the potential of a LA kid....

Hope he goes to Tenn, so I can actually root for him. Would be hard to do so if he goes to A&M.

ETA: LSU never offered him, so why are we here again?

And the A&M roll continues Let's see....3 guys they were supposedly leading on by Crystal Balls. Jefferson and McNeal pick Texas and Bussey chooses Tennessee. Not to mention Daylon Mack decommitting. Taylor Hamm must be on suicide watch at this point!

Apparently Ricky Deberry was a possibility

I haven't followed him but I didn't see any predictions related to him. But Kris Boyd (Top 100 CB out of Texas) supposedly is also trending toward Texas when he had been predicted by a majority to go to A&M. To be fair, A&M and Alabama can't possibly sign all the ones predicted for them since they apparently offer scholarships to everyone who is between 17 and 18 years old, but still....

A lot of people on this board were questioning Odell because of the level of completion. Bussey can play and will be a good get for the Vols.

Yep. With them only bringing back one true RB in Hurd and bringing in Kamara, he will fit right in as a #3 change of pace back. After Hurd leaves, he has the potential to be the top back.

Bussey is not a project. There just was no more room at rb with brossette and guice and ducre. Just a loaded class at rb.

Never said he was. Hurd at 6'3 225 already has a lock on #1 RB. With 4.4 speed and receiver like hands, I don't see anybody jumping him. Kamara at 5'10 210 also has a similar skillset. Bussey is short but at 205, has enough going for him where he could get snaps right away.

Bussey is a thicker Ameer Abdullah IMO.
