I actually considered that as I typed. I went to St. Joes. Never had a problem. But I know some friends who went to other schools thought I went to school in the hood back then. No clue what it's like now

how long before Catholic's location is considered "the hood"

It's def on the cusp, but in a protective little pocket of old money that isn't going anywhere.

I lived next door to Catholic in BR and was not even two blocks away from the ghetto. Where is Redemptorist, exactly?

Catholic is surrounded by pretty rich neighborhoods. it's sketchy to the north but i really dont consider catholic in the ghetto at all. that's just me though.

My cousin was robbed at gun point a few blocks from CHS. They ended up catching the guy though a few months later

Yeah, my first night in the area I went to a little store for some gum or something. Right near Catholic. Sketchy border right there.

Sure, I know there are nice houses near there, but it's not like nothing couldn't happen in that area.

the location wasn't the true killer, but once Zachary & Central formed their own school districts and became really nice schools the people in those areas stop sending their kids to RHS to put them in private school. RHS was the the nearest option for many.

The school is locally famous for the exceptional football teams throughout the years, with multiple state championship wins.

I see we've got our priorities straight.

Yeah. Someone said that too. Thanks. That makes a lot more sense.

I was sad when they closed the Piccadilly a while back. A lot of Friday night meals there back in the day.

Ahh. Never thought I would see the day where "nice school" and "ZHS" were in the same sentence.
