I would put either 2 or 3 first, and first third.

The Bible quote there is pretty good but I don't know if it beats out the quote about Stevens.

For what its worth, the preacher man is correct, Obama is like Jesus to some democrats who swallow his load every chance they get.

"Unfortunately, the people of Louisiana are not racists" is a good one.

Bondage between mother and child.

Nation's history/this century.

One word.... "To be prepared."

The guy said so many stupid things. Relax and laugh a bit. Stupid politician quotes are hysterical. Biden's are top notch, too.

20 years later, it turns out Dan Quayle was right about Murphy Brown and unmarried moms
By Isabel Sawhill
May 25, 2012

On May 19, 1992, as the presidential campaign season was heating up, Vice President Dan Quayle delivered a family-values speech that came to define him nearly as much as his spelling talents. Speaking at the Commonwealth Club of California, he chided Murphy Brown — the fictional 40-something, divorced news anchor played by Candice Bergen on a CBS sitcom — for her decision to have a child outside of marriage.
......

Twenty years later, Quayle’s words seem less controversial than prophetic. The number of single parents in America has increased dramatically: The proportion of children born outside marriage has risen from roughly 30 percent in 1992 to 41 percent in 2009. For women under age 30, more than half of babies are born out of wedlock. A lifestyle once associated with poverty has become mainstream. The only group of parents for whom marriage continues to be the norm is the college-educated.

Then since this is Choc's quote of the year thread, link us to something he said this year.

I'll wait.

Oh - I can laugh at gaffes from either side of the aisle.

I just don't think Dan Quayle's quotes are anywhere near as stupid as any DEM on the national stage.

And here I am talking about the actual intent of the quotes, not slips of the tongue.

We'll I'm referring to hilariously stupid things they've said. What's funnier than Biden saying that he knew three presidents "intimately"? Not a whole lot.

So you just sort of cede the point that the media are in the tank for democrats? You know, since OP was quoting awards given to media figures for being partisan hacks.

Now that's funny - not something I would put in the column of 'stupid political quote'

And example of Biden stupidity that comes to mind is Biden remembering FDR "going on TV" to discuss the depression.

Or Pelosi's "we've got to pass it to find out what's in it."

Or Obama's 'you can keep your doctor/plan and save $2500 a year"

Quayle never said anything close to the stupidity/hypocrosy/merndacity of those

I'll admit to being angry.

I feel like I am tied up and forced to watch my great grandchildren being beaten.

And I know I will not live long enough to know if they survive in a better or worse world than I was blessed to inherit.

You're damned right i am angry

I'd be stupid to argue that the media isn't "in the tank" for democrats. So, sure.

Pick your battles, man. Defending Dan Quayle in a stupid quote competition is nonsensical.

Not against Biden. Quayle had several public gaffes. Biden has decades of lying, idiotic and racist quotes.
