I just got a new tower with a Nvidia Geforce GTX 750. It has 3 connectors, DVI-I, DVI-D, mini hdmi. I bought 2 Dell s2340l monitors. The tower came with a DVI-I to VGA adapter.

So what's the best way to get the second monitor going? It seems like dvd-d to vga is complicated because of a digital versus analog issue? So should I just go mini hdmi to hdmi for the second monitor? TIA

Huh? Plug monitor A into DVI-D... Plug monitor B into DVI-I.

The monitors only have vga and hdmi inputs.

I'm pretty sure I've found the answer, dvi-d cannot convert to vga, even though multiple sites say it can as long as the monitor is "digital", not crt. So the answer is to just use the hdmi for the second output.

eta: Or use a dvi-d to hdmi cable.

Whichever adapter is cheaper.

EDIT: DVI-D to VGA would require an active adapter (i.e. outside power source to convert the signal from digital to analog), so probably not worth the trouble/cost.

Cool, thanks. I ordered the mini hdmi to hdmi cable from amazon.

(Just bummed that I've got one dead screen sitting on the desk till it gets here)
