Shoppers are out.
They know not to screw with Bilzerian or they'll get a fist full of lead.

Arse- Thanks for posting this. If you've ever seen these rodents in action, it's pretty horrific. I managed a store in the Quarters for about 5 years and dealt with these pests on a daily basis.
Any and all of the unattended (<18yo) black kids roaming the quarter are up to no good. True story. This is a fact. Even the little tap dancer, hood rats outside of Walgreens and Rouses..and now onto Frenchmen, are in on the game too. It's a scary, dog eat dog situation they are facing. I've seen stuff you wouldn't believe even if you knew I was telling the truth.
The gay & transexual teenagers, along with the mid-20 something black males that roam the quarter are the worst. They are mostly accompanied by a couple of beastly, skanked out teenage"fig hags", excuse me if that offends anyone. These particular groups take violence and thievery to the next level. If you don't believe what I'm saying, go check out some of the videos posted by the NOPD and/or read a couple of the police reports. It's disturbingly animalistic. Smash and grab is what they do...whether it's your face or a jewelry display case on Rampart St. Public knowledge here folks, make yourselves aware.
I've sent countless of these rodents to jail for these crimes, yet they keep coming back for more. The older housing projects used to feed a lot of this crime, and still does, funded by the city, in the newer section 8 build on the other side of Rampart. Is C-Ray to thank for that? Anyone?
The merchants on Magazine street seems to have a good bit of this under control. It's been going on for so long, it's just part of the routine.
I'm sure my post will get some flack for being a little harsh, but please, don't judge until you've seen it first hand. Bourbon is horrendous after dark. Young, black, uneducated, confused, parentless youths.
ready, set, go...

And another last night.
I may stay out of the Quarter until Christmas is over.
quote:
A 43-year-old man was stabbed Wednesday night (Dec. 18) after being robbed and attacked by a group of eight men in the French Quarter, police said.
According to preliminary police reports, the victim and two other men, both 21, were walking in the 1000 block of Gov. Nicholls Street about 10:13 p.m. when they were approached by the group, who police say were armed with weapons.
Three men in the group brandished knives, police said, and stabbed the 43-year-old man several times. The group then robbed all three of the men and fled the scene with their belongings, police said.
There was no immediate information on the 43-year-old's condition. Police have not released any additional details or descriptions of the suspects and the investigation is ongoing.
I may stay out of the Quarter until Christmas is over.

I'm there all the time. Nothing has happened to me. There certainly has been an uptick in robberies the past few days.

Yep, I read that yesterday. Ruthless juveniles with no parents on the radar. If there are parents, they beat the sheet out of the kids and kick them out on the street to fend for themselves. That's how the black welfare culture in New Orleans works, another true story if you didn't know.
I'll be down there for lunch today, but you won't find me there after dark.
12/11/14 footage (cold clocked from behind)
ROBBERY/SECOND DEGREE BATTERY, 100 BLOCK OF DAUPHINE
@ 7:50pm, New Orleans' finest doing work.

Will the police step up the patrols this weekend with the bowl game and saints games going on?
Posted on 12/19/14 at 7:45 am to Crow Pie
Most probably. That seems to be the norm for the NOPD to show face when a bowl game or big event comes to town.

I personally know 3 ppl in the QTR that have been robbed in the last 3 weeks. None filed police reports. Simple facts is NOPD and city admin give zero fricks. There is ALOT more crime going down than we are hearing about. I live in the CBD and I wont be going back to the qtr anytime soon.

At this point it seems New Orleans, especially in the area surrounding the quarter, needs a strong organized crime element to keep these thugs under control.
My brother lives in the quarter and even recently bought a place and I hate worrying that someday he may run into a situation he can't handle

City's better than ever. Just don't walk anywhere in the quarter after 6 or you're fricked.

Having the mafia strong again would probably be a good thing for New Orleans.

Cops will beef up patrols in the Quarter and then the thugs will move to the warehouse district, then to the bywater, then to home invasions uptown or Lakeview then back to the Quarter when the cops leave. It's all a cycle. Same song and dance. Need some of them to get shot by the normal citizens they are trying to rob.
