Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness, for me, is one of the greatest albums of all time. Adore was also great.

Love this album

Gish ... after that .. okay.

They opened for the RHCP and Pearl Jam at the Municipal if memory serves. Late 91. Great show.

Was working on a movie in Cleveland a few years ago and they were playing the HOB there. Gave it a go out of boredom and it was heinous. Billy and a bunch of kids up there.

Possibly my favorite band. Gimme Siamese Dream all day though. I'm in the minority that really liked Machina too.

Their best album IMHO. I love all of their work and MCATIS is the best double album ever made. Hell, I even like Zeitgeist.

Smashing Pumpkins (version 1) is my favorite band of all time. Gish through Adore was pure genius and Machina I and II weren't bad, either.

Pumpkins are my 2nd favorite band next to Pearl Jam.

Seen them a few times & got to meet them at a small after-show party back in 2000 just before they announced the breakup.

Billy & Jimmy were pretty cool & very friendly. James seemed like he wished he was anywhere else in the world at that moment.

Drown is, i think, the best song they ever did, but it often gets overlooked since it wasn't on a proper album

I said to someone the other day that their newest album is the best thing they've (I should say Billy) done since the Machina days...I really enjoyed Adore, but Mellon was by far their best work to me.

For me, too close to call with Siamese Dream, though.

Mellon has the better album cuts - and Tonight, Tonight is probably my favorite SP "hit" - but Siamese Dream, cut-for-cut, is one of the better albums of the entire genre. Mellon is weighed down by its size at times - 28 tracks is like 2 long albums (and it was a triple LP). But, there's a lot of good stuff in there.

Mellon Collie is a perfect album. Every song has its place.

I'm a huge SP fan. LOVE Siamese Dream. Mayonaise my all time favorite SP song. Just hearing the beginning of that song changes my mood and puts me in a temporary happy place.

Mellon Collie is also an awesome album.

Agree. There is a song for every mood on that album. It's a great album to listen to on road trips imo.

I like bits and pieces of their other albums as well. Seems like I can easily find a song I enjoy off any album they put out.

Also...they have a song named Pug...need I say more?

Couldn't agree more! I think I listened to that song every night for a year back in the 90s.
