went to the game at Long Beach State last night. Bottom line is Nikki Caldwell is not Z very good coach and the Women's team is a far cry from decent much less the juggernaut it was in the past. Aleva has a big decision to make. Bad coaching, program in decline and cant keep the top recruits in the state much less go out of state and get the type oftrecruits we use too. Time to go Nikki.

please see my summary thread...LBSU is a solid team but we are terrible, you will get lots of "but she's cute", "who cares" and even "its vans fault" but this is her 4th year and we are terrible, no talent signed for next year...if she does not get it turned around this year, she needs to go

They are very bad this year. They are scrappy on the boards, but then can't convert the put-back from 2 feet when they get the offensive rebound. They are terrible from the free throw line. How many 3's did Long Beach make last night? They leave the shooters wide open constantly. They can't pass the ball and I am shocked by the fall off in recruiting. I really thought Nikki would be able to attract a lot of talent. She did a good job of recruiting at UCLA but it is not happening here. She does seem to get the teams to come on down the stretch, but I think we may be the worst team in the conference this year and even if we get Ballard back..there is very little help elsewhere. Moncrief and Harden are too inconsistent and no one else can score. I expect us to finish last or at least very near the bottom. Nikki has been a big disappointment.

I'd also add that she is vastly overpaid.

Not if she wins and not for an LSU WBB coach, if she is fired we will pay more (and I would gladly support it) to find a winner.

Just hire Kim Mulkey and be done with it. Her son plays for LSU in baseball so if they paid her enough she would move.

I meant that she is vastly overpaid for the results we are seeing. I understand the market for coaches, but it could be argued that Alleva overpaid when she was hired.

Yes, even if she wins, and yes, especially for a WBB coach. With the rising costs and changes that are coming quickly within the NCAA, it is completely absurd to pay the money Nikki Caldwell is making for a women's basketball coach.

Would love to have Mulkey but a short baseball career is not enough for a family tie pull
Plus I would not sink any more money in women's hoops than you absolutely have to. In the grand scheme of things LSU does not need to throw a ton of money at minor sports

I would hire Pat Summits kid. Cheap, pedigree, has an experienced staff, name recognition, young......
