1979 - Mac's last team. Played USC, #1 at the time to the last play and also lost to Bama , also than # 1, 3-0. Under manned team played their guts out for that man. I will never forget that team. More guts than any team since.

2005 team.. Katrina/Rita... The team lost to Tenn on Monday night then went on a run. I still think had we had an extra week of rest before the SECCG we would have won. The team won many close games... AU, Bama, UF and ASU.

2011. Waxed everybody but Bama, including some very good teams.

Wrong 2011, just needed a QB that did not freak out against Bama.

2005 A shame that those hurricanes happened. That team would have beaten anyone at the end of that season.

Last year's offense, it's a shame the D was in a down year.

1980-1981 Hoops Tigers, the PMAC was packed, and rocking, ole Red was a human boombox, preseason Top 5 team and absolutely looked the Vitale 'All Airport Team' coming off the bus with 7 footers and plenty of big men, Tigs won 26 in a row, won the first 17 in SEC play, then were hosed by the refs in SEC finale at the end to help protect Kentucky's best SEC regular season mark(as the recently expanded schedule would have had LSU's perfect season eclipse some of Ky's perfectos in shorter seasons?)..

The win vs UNLV and Tark, rolling in league play 17-0 start, the two big wins in the Dome to go to the Final Four vs Eddie Sutton and Joe Kleine's Arkansas(to avenge season's second game loss in Alaska) then beating Antionne Carr and Cliff Levingston's Wichita State Shockers.

Rudy broke his finger in Final Four clincher, LSU was Vegas co-chalk with Indiana heading into Philly..heartbreak ensued.

There was also a shoving match between an Three-Time Natty winning HC vs Two-Time WSOP bracelet winner that weekend..but that's another story.

2011 team did win a championship if memory serves correctly.

OP was talking about national championships. He even said most would choose 2006 and 2011.

2001 That team IMO would have given even Miami a great game at the end of the year....

Also loved the 1982 team. Came out of nowhere with two freshman rbs and shock a lot of people. They way they went into Bama and destroyed them I will never forget....

JLee led 2011 LSU Tigers.

That 98 team was much better than record indicates.
Lost several close games.
