Is anyone into Royal Blood? 2 piece band that rock pretty hard. Could these guys make it big and save rock music? I vote yes.

Figure it out

I listened to these guys a few days back. I'm not seeing anything they're doing that the Black Keys, Strokes, White Stripes and other guitar driven garage rock throwbacks haven't already tried to do.

I'm not saying I don't like them, as I do.. but I'm just not buying them as revolutionary saviors.

I can agree with that. I think they are very good. Can't wait for them to tour in the U.S.

Listened again tonight while cooking dinner. They have a lot more heavy and grunge to them than the other acts I compared them to.

rock and roll doesn't need "saving". they are a good band though. I like how he's playing a very fuzzed out bass.

It may not to people like you or me who regularly listen to it, but for the general population the appeal of rock and roll is gone.

Don't see them as comparable to Black Keys besides the fact that there are two of them and that doesn't even hold true anymore.

Would love to see them roll through NOLA.

Yeah. I later said that they have a lot more grunge (almost Soundgardenesque at times) than Black Keys and aren't paying homage to the blues in the same way.

Some of their catchy stuff actually reminds me a lot of the Arctic Monkeys blended with QOTSA.

People have told me they hear Black Keys... but I am with you. I do not.

He plays lead guitar with a bass...mind blown.

Yeah, but they had a sax to fill out the sound and the dude only played two strings. The guy in Royal Blood plays lead guitar (all strings) on bass.

Just discovered this band and I'm impressed with their debut album. They're linked to the Black Keys/White Stripes because of the duo lineup but the comparisons stop there. Their sound is more groove-driven where the Black Keys were blues-based and White Stripes were punk.

I say: if rock can only be saved by a Zep tribute band, maybe we should just let it die
