because I live out of state. Online salesman is saying that management won't allow them to sell to out of state people because of bad experiences. WTF? Anyone ever experience this? Is this even legal? Seems discriminatory due to my location.

No. I just simply inquired about the truck and asked what their shipping policies were and he responded that because I didn't live in Florida, they couldn't sell to me.

Did you tell him that you will happily take your money elsewhere?

Wonder if they would sell you a car instead of a truck. Did you ask?

I'm just wondering if that's even legal.

Why would that be illegal? A business can refuse service to whomever they want.

I think its legal to say you will go elsewhere, if you are worried about that.

Been looking online for a few weeks and found this truck. Has everything I want in the color I want. First Navy F150 I've seen.

Could you call Ford? Maybe they have a "dealer relations"department where you could lodge a complaint or something?

This is a red flag for you or anyone considering buying a vehicle from them.

This tells me that they try to get you in the dealership with empty promises and once you get there, they low ball you on the trade and try to sell the vehicle at a higher price than what was agreed upon. They probably did this with an out of state person and that person called them out... loudly!

So they were forced to sell the vehicle at the lower price just to save face with the customers that were there. Now they just don't deal with out of state buyers to avoid this.

Illegal? Probably not. But they want to continue with their low balling efforts and you might put a dent in their plans.

I had a bad experience with a Toyota Dealership and called Toyota Corporate.

They can't force a dealer to do anything, but they can certainly ask. And if they still refuse, they can call local dealers and ask if they will get you the same truck at the same price. At least that's what happened in my case.

WTF? You are going to report a dealership for refusing to sell across state lines?

Did you really start this thread because you thought that might be illegal? Are you that dumb?
