Only because you want him to go.

Nope. But your definitive statements about it like you really know for sure whats going to happen are cute. I think we all know its a longshot he leaves. But there is always the chance.

You've got Miles until he retires. Deal with it.

What is the difference between on the record and off the record if the information is made public? Is michigan less embarrassed now?

I have begun to notice a pattern in Miles' responses. Have you noticed that nothing he says to the media makes much sense?

So are you just doing this so you can make a thread when michigan hires another coach to "boom" everyone?

He's not taking the job. There hasn't been contact. If there is in the upcoming weeks he's already given his answer.

Or until he is fired or until he leaves for michigan. All of those are options.

Being fired is an option. Being forced into retirement is an option. Both are several years down the road.

Michigan is not going to happen.

Les Miles has informed LSU athletic officials that he hasn't been contacted byMichigan about the Wolverines' coaching vacancy and has no intention of leaving the Tigers.

LSU spokesman Michael Bonnette says Miles sought to make his status with LSU clear Monday following reports by news outlets in Michigan, citing unidentified sources, that Miles had been contacted about the Michigan job.

Same goes for politics ... as if prefacing a comment with 'off the record' means you didn't say it.

Very few will because they despise Miles unreasonably.

The only story here is that Miles isn't interested, and Tiger nation can sleep at ease now.

Yep. The negatigers can get used to Miles's brand of crappy-to-watch football and 2-3 losses per year, watching the SECCG at home.

The positigers can sleep at ease knowing their precious W-L record will (probably) roll on and they can do whatever it is they do with it that makes it so valuable to them.

I don't understand what is so fulfilling about seeing "10-3" at the end of the year when you weren't really that happy with the coach or team's performance through most of the year.

It's nice of Les to let Michigan know he isn't interested, even though they seemingly weren't interested in him. It doesn't bother you just a little bit that Michigan never offered Miles a job? He's an alumnus, has won a national championship, and has a sterling W-L record at a big-time program. So why in the world wouldn't they want him? Could it be that the W-L record is just the surface story and that nobody outside of a few LSU fans really believes Les is an elite coach?

Something tells me he could have said anything on or off the record and you would have made the exact same post.

FWIW, I think Miles did this to tamper down the rumor mill prior to bowl prep. No distractions.

Instead with an asinine off the record comment, that an idiot blogger turns into an on the record comment, just pours gas onto the fire.

Cmon, Les stand in front of the Baton Rouge media and say yes or no. It's pretty f'ing easy.
