He is set to take the head coaching job at Houston and may not coach in the Sugar Bowl.

That would certainly hurt. It will have an effect either way unless he completely doesn't work on Houston for the month leading up to the game but I don't see that happening.

More of an uphill battle than ever for Ohio State.

Meyer is the real offensive mind there anyways.

No excuses. Next man up.

I think tOSU will give them a game but I don't know that the defense that showed up against Wisconsin will be there on New Year's Day.

He doesn't call the plays though.

I think if it were just one game, Coog High could tolerate it. But, if they get to the championship, that's a pain in the arse. I think Chicken said Pelini coached in '07 against y'all, and I thought McElwain did for 1/09/12.

How epic would it be if OSU won the NC with a 3rd string qb and no OC?

The mountain was already steep...f it lets do it

Losing your Heisman caliber quarterback and your OC...yeah terrible excuses.

ETA:

Unfortunately we are playing a pathetic school such as the Badgers again.

We thought the same thing when Mullen left.

Probably Herman because Meyer never called plays at UF and Utah.

Losing the playcaller midseason is a huge blow. If someone else calls the plays, they won't even have a practice game before they face a Nick Saban defense. And if Urban Meyer calls the plays, that will keep him from focusing on the big picture.

I wish coaches couldn't be hired until after bowls. It's so stupid that a coach would leave before his teams biggest game of the year.

Have all of the silent agreements in place, but don't announce until the season ends for everyone.
