Hell I think we all know at least one person who has said we should turn the ME into a glass parking lot. Tons of posters in here have said it. With that attitude being so prevalent, I don't blame people for getting scared when stuff like this happens.

Just last year, someone got pushed in front of a subway and died because a crazy person thought he was a Muslim. He wasn't.

(The person who did it was literally crazy, but that doesn't change the fact that the victim was targeted because of perceived religion)

Not sure what the issue is here

The issue is the hilarious knee-jerk presumption that Islamic citizens in The West are somehow under siege from redneck yahoos and need protection. It's liberal moral vanity.

The truth of course is that The Western Democracies are the most welcoming tolerant societies in the history of Mankind. So much so, that we inexplicably allow committed Islamists to live in our midst and actively plot against us. And then when they kill us in coffee shops, and attack us with knives on the street, rather than reflecting on their ACTUAL PATHOLOGICAL SICKNESS, we fixate on our own IMAGINARY INTOLERANT NATURE.

Anyone else catch this snippet from the AP?

"In a show of solidarity, many Australians offered on Twitter to accompany people dressed in Muslim clothes who were afraid of a backlash from the cafe siege. The hashtag #IllRideWithYou was used more than 90,000 times by late this evening."

Gotta love the planet we live in nowadays, social justice warriors didn't waste a minute making Muslims a victim of all this.
Not on board with this. Australian Muslim leaders vehemently denounced this ISIS POS from the start.
That is all that should be necessary.

WTF are US Muslim leaders saying?

Why do you people care? So what? Jesus, there is so much cynicism and moral superiority on this board against people wanting to pull together after a tragedy.

The better question is why do you care so much that you feel the need to be The Board Subject Nanny and scold us because we choose to engage in a little Social Commentary about the news of the day?

What tragedy were Muslims apart of in Sydney? Other than being the perpetrators.
