So Memphis Bball coach Josh Pastner makes $2.65 million

I knew R.C. Johnson was a bad AD but dear lord, they gave him this raise after he beat UTEP in the CUSA tourney to get them in the NCAAs during his second year of coaching
I understand they didn't want anyone poaching him but that raise is extreme

We gave butch an extension with an incentive induced raise of only a couple $100k
These two things are not the same and a least there was some evidence of another team actually being interested in him. No have yet to hear of a team being interested in Pastner yet he makes enough to be a top 10 paid coach

It is one of the worst out there. It infuriates me that one of my good friends (Austin Nichols) is wasting his career under him when he had to chance to go to a place like Duke instead.

The time for him to be poached was several years ago, of course had that happened then Memphis fans would all be pissed off cause they lost another "good coach"

I actually worked in the Memphis athletic department for one year. R.C. Johnson was my realization that really ignorant people sometimes stumble into positions of power.
