This would be a disaster for the Pels.

I still think D'Antoni would be interesting for this team. As absolutely insane as that sounds.

Calipari could lock Davis down.

Really just want someone who coaches what he has instead of his own particular system.

same here, if i had to take a college coach i wouldn't be upset with Hoiberg.

I really like Alex Jensen, he is supposed to be a master of the motion offense. he's a Rick Majerus protege.

Defense is this team's problem. They have plenty of fire power even if it's not always pretty.

Could not take any of the great Phoenix teams to the Finals?

No thanks.

There is an assistant with the clippers I wouldn't mind either in that respect. His name escapes me right now but he has a defensive reputation and a real fiery perosnality. not afraid to let guys know when they screw up.

ETA: Robert Pack is who i was thinking of. he is currently with OKC but he is from New Orleans, could be a good fit.

In fairness, they got hosed by the refs in that Spurs series.

Mike Woodson or Lawrence Frank?

Both were former HCs for a short while and did pretty well for having bad teams.

Yea true, what are they up to now. last i heard of Frank he was getting canned by Jason Kidd.

also, the more i look into the Robert pack the more i like him. New Orleans Native and coached with the Hornets in 09-10'. Undrafted guy that made a 10 year career in the league at PG.

Those teams were good bc of D'Antoni. It's no coincidence all of them guys had career years in that system. D'Antoni got those boys paid, too

Yea, his system requires a good PG as well, which he didn't have at any of his other stops.

ziller on malone/kings:
quote:

George Karl is available:

The well-traveled coach has history with D'Alessandro from their time together in Denver and Karl's teams are known for their up-tempo offenses, which would seem to fit management's requirements. Still, if the plan is to nab Karl before someone else can -- and there are no indications any other coach is on an immediate hot seat with the exception of Monty Williams -- what rationale is there to pull the trigger in December? Why not wait until Boogie returns (likely this week) and see how Malone carries the Kings through the rest of an easy December schedule? What's the upside?

Good morning. We did not expect to be writing about an NBA coach meeting his doom this early in the season, at least not unless it was a coach named, say, Monty Williams.

Damn, the national media hates Monty.

Not that they don't have good reason too.
