I've been silent about all the job offers I haven't got. This makes me think I should schedule a presser soon. No telling how many people I've pissed off by this silence.

He's not going, but I could see a deal where if they made him head coach with AD on the horizon as a very tempting deal. No way they do that either though.

Miles has already told recruits, assts on staff who are getting raises and extended, and players like Dural he is staying - I think that's enough. Media or fans don't need anything else.

And you know this how? If he's telling them that, then he might as well come out publicly and state it too.

I have no doubt he's told recruits that he hasn't "heard" from Michigan and is the LSU coach, but I think he'd be smart to do that if interested in the position since he hasn't officially been offered.

Les is either trying to milk this for more money or has real interest in the position. I don't really have respect for him if it is the former.

By organizing and holding a press conference to let people know he is not taking a job that he hasn't been offered yet.

Duh.

All he has to say in a presser is that he isnt interested in the michigan job and is committed to lsu.

Is there a precedence where another coach held a presser to announce that he wasn't interested in a job that he wasn't officially offered?

Sounds pretty ludicrous.

Or he could say it during a bowl game presser or through someone like shea dixon.

How about someone like a recruit of current player?

That is a private visit with a recruit and family. Entirely different than doing it through the media

Nothing Les says at this point will mean anything. This will be true until Michigan hires somebody.

Didn't we learn anything from the way Saban left the Dolphins and Petrino left the Falcons? Coaches in this situation have to lie, and for this reason shouldn't be overly criticized for doing so.

So, call a conference to decline a job he hasn't been offered. What other coaches are pissing you off because of their silence?

That was a bit different considering Herbstreit was reporting that he had already accepted an offer.

Exactly and it was on the morn of the SEC Championship Game, so there was that, too.

The current situation is not the same. People just have to stop getting their panties in a wad. He's not going to announce that he's not taking a job he hasn't been offered.

And say what? "Mich. has a job opening that I haven't been offered, but I want to let you know I am not taking the Mich. offer that they haven't made to me no matter what the offer I haven't seen might be."

Really, this need some seem to have to tell Miles what he should or shouldn't do is getting more than a little silly.
