Animated movie suggestion.

First night to myself in a while and I've been itching to watch a good animated movie, anyone have any suggestions?
I'd like to watch something hand-drawn, no pixar stuff. I generally stay away from anime, and I'm looking for something more "adult" than a disney/dreamworks movie. Heavy Metal, Fantastic Planet, and Animal Farm are movies I enjoy, so that would be a good point of reference.

Just start binge watching One Piece. I've never watched it, but it's supposed to be Anime GOAT.

While it is technically anime, I'd advise Princess Mononoke from all the criteria you described. It's an animated movie of the likes you've never seen before. It's an absolute masterpiece.

The Iron Giant.
It's copacetic.

AKIRA is a must-see. animation was/is groundbreaking.
Ghost in the Shell. 1st movie. Used three dimensional backgrounds with 2d characters in places. AI / robot / cop / "what is it to have a soul" movie.
My recent favorite is Summer Wars.
the story revolves around a large extended family against an AI that is taking over the internet. Love the story.

Is akira on netflix?
Also I've seen The Iron Giant and it's one of my favorites. Got my dad to take me to see it three times when it was out in theaters.

Go on youtube, and find the dubbed version of Barefoot Gen.
Really good movie about the WWII, a boy and his family survive an atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima.
Beware though, it is pretty graphic, and super depressing
ETA: It's anime, but very adult, and is based on the author's true story of surviving the atomic bomb blast

Watch Redline. It's an anime racing movie. Whole thing was hand drawn.
Story is generic, but it's nonstop adrenaline.
One if my favorites.
Redline Trailer
I recommend watching it in Japanese with subtitles. I don't know how good the English dub is.
Just FYI, it took them 7 years to hand draw this movie.
And it's on YouTube for free.
Rewatched it because of this thread and I have to say, the English dub is great.
