Need to change out my laptop...

I am looking to replace my laptop at my house. I really only use it to browse the internet and take the photos off of my canon camera and put the photos on an external hard drive. Any thoughts on this for this purpose?

It's fine, but:
It has one microUSB port. You will need a micro to female USB adapter. You can get one for a couple bucks online.

Yes to the external drive, and yes it's a true windows system, just extremely light on the hardware. Don't expect to be able to do much with it, almost like a weak tablet. But it will run a browser or camera utilities (emphasis on the "or" -- not a lot of RAM in this machine, so don't expect to multitask).
You may be happier with something like the HP Stream 11, if you don't need the tablet functionality. Look into those. A bit more RAM and CPU power and they are only $199.
