The parents of eight of the children killed in the Dec. 14, 2012, carnage, which 20-year-old gunman Adam Lanza ended by shooting himself dead as he heard police sirens approach, have notified Connecticut courts that they may file wrongful death lawsuits in state or federal court.

Their initial court filings, related to legal entities created in memory of their children, do not indicate who the families could target in their lawsuits, according to a chief court clerk for North Fairfield County Probate Court.

Who should be the defendant(s) in the suit?

If they sue their town or state aren't they suing themselves since it is taxpayer money that would be used to pay the settlement?

For a viable lawsuit, doesn't some entity have to be negligent. Who or what entity showed negligence in this matter. I know some attorneys like to file lawsuits all day long but I just don't see the negligence on anyone or entity unless Im missing something.

Yeah, that's NOT the argument against a suit.

Lack of negligence is.

If the state or the Adam-Nancy Lanza estate is assumed negligent, is there a preponderance of evidence?

When you and your life partner adopt a child you will understand, you get really attached to them.

Also, this seems like a lot of work for the crisis actors to go through just to convince everyone Sandy Hook really happened.

Praise Allah we have the Sandy Hook truthers to really educate the sheeple.

Brady Campaign is behind this nonsense. Apparently they plan to go after Bushmaster and the FFL that sold the rifle. Any lawyer that didn't get their JD from a Crackerjack box knows that Federal law protects firearm makers and FFL's from such frivolous lawsuits.

depends on who they sue as to how interesting discovery will be.

my guess is they sue the school system for not doing enough and not realizing just how nuts Lanza was.

i'm not saying it's a theory that may win them the case, but it's the most viable one at this point

Your kid dies in a horrible tragedy orchestrated by a lost, insane, evil person and you decide you wanna get some cash out of it.

Nice.

I really hate posts like this. You're dealing with a bunch of grieving parents who want SOME semblance of justice. Its entirely natural to seek out someone to blame since the POS who pulled the trigger took thre easy way out.

I don't agree with the lawsuit, but it's not like they're a bunch of welfare queens filing a lawsuit to get rich. They probably don't even care about the money.

I don't think a judge would let it go anywhere because he was to far out of public school. The only play I could see is going after the mothers estate but that itself is even reaching.

It is absolutely horrible that 20 kids died but the only person to blame for their deaths is dead too.
