We graduate players top in the SEC(minus Vandy) and generally have no major discipline issues(We never compete for the infamous Fulmer Cup) and have had no major NCAA infractions, we had a minor issue with a scout service and took care of it. We hire and pay top coordinators and have one of the few financially elite programs. All of these are testaments to Les Miles who is a 1st rate human being. Now having said that, the flip side is Miles makes very poor personnel decisions sometimes just to spite himself. The Beckwith-Welter issue, our current QB issue, the JJ/JLee debacles, his constant changing RBs at times for no reason, his issues with Terrance Toliver when he was our best WR, it goes on and on and for no explainable reason. Why he recruits DT QBs to run a pro style offense? Why he recruits pass catching TEs when he uses them primarily to block? He's too loyal to a fault with sub par coaches like Stud and BDP. His gameday coaching is lacking and his teams never appeared prepared. His gameplans appear simple and do not take advantage of obvious mismatches or opportunities. Plain and simple Miles is not an Xs and Os coach, his schtick has become stale and he will average a couple of losses a year from here on out. It will take some stars align type situations to just win the SEC.

Really hard for any logical LSU fan to argue with this post.

My thoughts exactly.

The goal of this football team is to win the SEC West, and then on to championship contention.

A bunch of mediocre loving pussies will come on here and spout wins per season or some other stocking filling stat to justify their shifty stance.

We have had several years where we would have been in a position to be champions were it not for suck arse qb play and lack of coaching regarding the position and the offense.

We pay for and deserve better from whoever is in charge, period.

We suffer constantly witht he lack of developing a qb. It's on the staff. It is their fault. I think we actually are getting worse at a the position...save for Mett being gift wrapped to us.

I personally want Les to be here. But it's part of his job and he owes it to the rest of the team to have a qb ready to do his job. The one equation in the last 7 yrs of this mediocre BS is the head coach. He has to realize he may be the issue and step out of the way and let the OC do his job. If it's still wrong, fire the OC.

But remaining status quo and making zero changes is not acceptable to most.
That's where we are now, being told to sit down and shut up while this staff becomes millionaires. frick that! Win and win now. That's what you're paid to do and you have the facilities, funding, support, and players you need to do that.

Quit accepting mediocre results from ANY position!

I don't think anyone sees it as a positive, just a necessity.

We (fans and school) pay a lot a money with a huge financial investment in football and expect more than we are getting.

Calling the coach of our team names, like clown, is not going to turn out great all the time.

Actually the athletic dept. pays the school upwards of $7 Million dollars a year. All the coaches are State Employees with only a portion of their salaries paid by the State, with a majority of their individual compensation packages coming from outside sources (TAF, radio & TV contracts (HC only), shoe deals, etc.) LSU (the University) has a very small investment in the Athletic Dept. in reality.

So, in reality what you are really stating is fans choose to spend their money on LSU and that buys them the option of bitching about anything that they so desire.

Hopefully you realize that bitching on a message board does absolutely nothing in fostering any type of change.

This, I don't get. It is an entertainment choice. Period.

Almost everything you read here is 100% pre determined emotional, like a Womans Day almost.

YOU MAD because of the facts

Who's mad? I'm just asking why you feel the need to clarify that Bama is and has historically always been head and shoulders above the rest of the SEC. We don't like it, but it's not like this hasn't always been the case in the SEC. Yet, some posters want to make this all about Les Miles.

What's wrong with wanting to compete for championships?

Nothing at all. However, I think 5 top ten finishes in 10 years, including 4, top five, is pretty much competing for championships. Having the most wins in the SEC and top 5 nationally for the past decade sure sounds like competing for championships. No sir, nothing wrong with wanting that. Here's to the next decade being just as good as the last.

The fans very much want the team to succeed. Its tough to watch a quality football team like our Tigers struggle because of quarterback play. I hate it.But the players have to own their responsibility.Zack was great 1 year;his last.I am frustrated watching all these other SEC teams with elite quarterbacks. Blaming the head coach lets the players off too light IMO.

tennessee was in line for the nc until lsu beat them in the sec title game. lsu went in 03. auburn got screwed in 04. so that would have been 3 out of 5 years. so to say the sec was nowhere near is ridiculous

It wasn't. In 2001 lsu won the west with 3 losses. Bama was down, south carolina wasn't good yet.
