I wasn't necessarily talking about him going back because of the goings on at TFC, good or bad. He's our best player right now and future captain (He should already be the captain IMO, but that's another discussion). His natural athletic ability and talent is not what got him there. He's plenty talented sure, but it's things like his competitiveness and ambition that got him to where he is now. He's 27, will turn 28 in July. These past couple of years and the next 3-5 years will be his peak athletic years. I don't want to use the word waste here, but I will. Surely, he doesn't want to waste those years doing the MLS thing. I truly don't mean to bag on MLS, but the truth is the truth. Our best player needs to be playing at as high a level as he is capable of, surrounded by players who are at or above his level.

I also understand the money part of it too, though. He couldn't get half those wages playing in Europe. And I'm not sure very many of those clubs would pay the type of fee that MLS would want for him. Either way, I think he will find a way out and be playing in Europe before Russia '18.

His movement was actually very good when he was with AZ. I'm not sure why he's regressed so much in that regard, but I've noticed it too and it frustrates the hell out of me.

I really think it comes down to his confidence being shot to hell. He looks hesitant and indecisive.

I would like to see him in Ligue 1, maybe at Nantes.

Sunderland is not where Jozy needs to be

Did you see his whiff and slip over the weekend? He's in his own head way too much.

Werner Bremen is second to bottom of the table. No thanks. Go to Lille.

Jozy is a physically gifted, technically limited striker. In a physical league like the Prem, where his strength is matched by most solid defenders, he's going to have to be on his best technical day to make a difference.

Back to goal, he's pretty damn good. Facing goal, he doesn't offer a ton. He's his best in the USMNT when he either gets the ball back to goal, holds it up, and allows the defense to push up, or when he drags a defender wide and cuts back in.

I don't know why people feel Jozy needs to succeed in the EPL. He needs to go somewhere and score goals. I don't really care where. MLS, Holland, wherever. He needs to be happy and scoring goals. When he's confident, his techincal play improves tremendously, but he's not consistent there, because, quite frankly, he's about five years behind his European peers in development, because of what he grew up with vs. what they grew up with.

Just go somewhere you're a regular, where you're wanted, and where you can score goals, Jozy. It doesn't have to be the Prem, or England at all. Holland's fine; America's fine; anywhere is fine. Just get your form and confidence and consistency going so you can develop instead of stagnating on the bench.

Yeah - if there's a group of people that like Americans - it's the French.
