I'm watching the Army - Navy game right now. The Navy helmets have a strip on the back that says:
DON'T TREAD ON ME
That's code for the Tea Party. Announcers have not commented on it. They won't.

You can't be serious. I actually think you're joking.

Trust me. I'm not that imaginative. It's a small strip about 5 inches across and 1/2 inch high. It's only on Navy. Can't see it on Army. You cannot see it unless there is a close shot of the back of a player's head.

It's located at the very back base of the helmet. Very difficult to see since players are moving. I saw it when a player was standing still after a tackle of an army player.

It's the fricking Navy Jack, Zach. It's older than the current flag.

Re: your pic. Another change. Navy is wearing the real last names of the players on the back. Not a slogan 'duty' 'honor' or 'midshipmen'. Army is wearing 'west point' on the back.

Actually, the Gadsden Flag is considered a sign of antigoverment extremism by the Department of Homeland Security.

It has nothing to do with the Tea Party. The phrase is from the first "Navy Jack". It was created around 1775. We wore it on our type IIIs in Bahrain. Pilots and others have worn it on flight suits and utilities for years. Army even used to wear it.

It's like you totally missed the point. Didn't you serve in the Navy? No one was questioning whether or not it was on the uniforms, we were questioning Zach's apparent ignorance of the context.

Probably not.

Army, brah.

But someone posted a picture that did NOT show the slogan. That implied it wasn't on there (although the picture was in the link.)

He's pretty obviously trolling. Zach is old as hell. He's been around.

Correct. So, is someone at Navy gonna get in trouble for this?
